Drinking Alcohol After Skin Boosters: Planning Soju and Makgeolli Around Your Session
Soju night planned after Rejuran, Juvelook Skin or Skinvive in Myeongdong? Why the treatment evening should stay dry and how to fit drinks into your Seoul trip.
Skip alcohol on the evening of your skin booster session and move the soju, beer or makgeolli to another night of your Korea trip. Alcohol opens up small blood vessels, and a skin booster leaves many tiny injection points across the face, so drinking early makes bruising and puffiness more likely. The doctor at RE:BERRY Myeongdong confirms your exact waiting window.
Why Fresh Skin Booster Points and Alcohol Clash
A skin booster is spread across the skin in many small, shallow injections. Rejuran places PN (polynucleotide) into the dermis, Juvelook Skin uses PDLLA with HA, and Skinvive delivers microparticle HA for hydration. Whichever product you choose, the face ends the session dotted with little puncture points, each one starting the body’s normal repair response.
That early repair stage involves a short inflammatory phase in which local blood flow rises and the tissue swells slightly while it seals (Werner, 2003). Drinking adds to that effect: alcohol relaxes vessel walls and flushes the skin, so a few drinks on the first evening can turn a faint mark into a visible bruise or make the small raised bumps look puffier the next morning.
There is a practical side as well. A long night out usually means touching your face, rubbing your eyes, sleeping heavily on one cheek and waking up dehydrated. Each of these is minor on its own. Stacked together on the night of treatment, they make the recovery look rougher than it needs to.
Fitting Soju Dinners and Bar Nights Into a Seoul Itinerary
Drinking is woven into Seoul evenings. Pork belly grills come with green soju bottles, rainy days call for makgeolli and pajeon, and the street tents and pubs off Euljiro fill up late. You do not need to give any of that up. Arrange the trip so that the drinking nights and the skin booster evening fall on different dates.
- Hold the big group dinner or bar night before your appointment.
- Choose a treatment slot on an evening you planned to keep light anyway, such as the night before a morning flight to Jeju or a long walking day.
- On treatment night, go out for food and order barley tea, omija tea or a zero-alcohol beer.
- Keep the celebratory round for the final nights of the trip, after the doctor has cleared you to drink.
Korean table manners can make refusing a pour feel awkward, especially when an older host fills your glass. A short explanation that you had a skin treatment today, followed by a toast with water or tea, is understood almost everywhere.
Who Should Take Extra Care With Drinks After a Booster
The area treated matters. Rejuran i is placed around the eyes, where the skin is thin and any bruise shows more clearly, so travellers booking under-eye work have more reason to keep the evening dry. A full-face session also leaves more points than a small area, and combination plans that pair a booster with Potenza add another layer of fresh skin to look after.
Your own history matters too. If you mark easily, take blood-thinning medicine, or use supplements such as fish oil, ginkgo or high-dose vitamin E, mention it at booking. Never stop a prescribed medicine on your own; the doctor simply needs the full picture to plan the session.
Arriving hungover is its own problem. A dehydrated face after a heavy night before the appointment can make the injections less comfortable and the skin redder afterwards. Treat the night before your booster as a quiet one, with water and a proper sleep.
The Morning After: Bumps, Bruises and When to Ask
If you forgot the advice and had a glass of wine with dinner, there is no need to panic. Switch to water, keep your hands off the treated skin, sleep with your head a little raised, and leave the second glass for another night. Small raised bumps at the injection points are expected after a skin booster and settle on their own; a light bruise can be covered with makeup once the points have closed.
Some signs deserve a doctor’s look in person: swelling that keeps spreading, pain that grows instead of easing, skin that turns pale or dusky, or redness and warmth that suggest infection. While you are still in Seoul, send a photo to RE:BERRY Myeongdong by message and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Back home, any concern that appears after the flight belongs with a doctor near you.

Skin Boosters and Alcohol: Traveller Questions
How long should I avoid alcohol after a skin booster?
No drinks on the night of the treatment; after that, stick to the waiting time set by your RE:BERRY Myeongdong doctor. It depends on the product, the area treated and how easily you bruise, so ask for it at the end of your appointment.
Does drinking cancel out my Rejuran or Juvelook Skin?
There is no evidence that a drink later in your trip undoes the product. The worry on the first evening is bruising and extra swelling at the injection points, which is why the treatment night is the one to keep dry.
Can I drink the night before my skin booster appointment?
It is wiser not to. Alcohol the night before can leave the skin flushed and dehydrated, and it makes bruising at the many small injection points more likely. Plan a quiet evening with water before the session.
Is makgeolli or beer safer than soju after a booster?
Lower strength does not make a drink harmless on treatment night. Any alcohol relaxes blood vessels, so a few beers or bowls of makgeolli can still add to bruising. Order tea or a zero-alcohol drink that evening instead.
Will alcohol make skin booster bumps last longer?
Drinking can make the small raised bumps look puffier the next morning because it adds to swelling and dehydration. The bumps themselves settle as the product spreads into the skin, and staying hydrated helps your face look calmer.
I bruised after a night out. What should I do now?
Stop drinking for now, avoid pressing or massaging the bruise, and keep your head raised when you sleep. A small bruise fades by itself. If swelling spreads or the skin changes colour, send a photo to the clinic for advice.
